Acrostic No. 60

A hidden sentence, revealed by the answers to its clues. The clock starts when you press start — not before.

How to play
  1. The board is a hidden sentence, one square per letter.
  2. Answer a clue and its letters appear in the sentence, wherever they belong.
  3. Or type a word you can read out of the sentence — it fills in where it stands, and completes the answers those letters belong to.
  4. Every letter belongs to exactly one answer, and nothing is marked wrong: a word that is not in the puzzle simply does not take.

Quote
Carl W. Buehner
usually credited to Maya Angelou · 1971

It is almost always quoted as Maya Angelou's, but the earliest printing anyone has found is a 1971 book of quotations that credits Carl W. Buehner, a leader of the Mormon church, in the form 'They may forget what you said'. The Angelou attribution came decades later. It is a good line whoever said it first.

Clues

Two ways in. Type an answer from the list above and its letters appear in the sentence. Or type a word you can guess from the sentence itself — it fills in where it stands, and completes the answers those letters belong to. Every letter of the sentence belongs to exactly one answer, and the small number on a tile is its position in the sentence. Hover a clue to see which tiles it owns.
